Thousand Sunny (サウザンドサニー号) is a starter stage in Super Smash Flash 2 hailing from the ONE PIECE franchise.
Layout[]
Thousand Sunny consists of a large main platform with two large soft platforms floating over its right side. The main platform is mostly flat with much higher elevation on the left side, which contains two stacked crates and a slope to their right angled upward toward the wall, and only slightly higher elevation on the right side, which contains four smaller crates lined up with each other. The soft platforms are vertically oriented, with the higher platform being much longer.
The Straw Hat Pirates appear across the background of the stage. From the left to right: Roronoa Zoro sleeps next to his three swords, Nami reads from a map and periodically looks toward the fighters, Sanji smokes a cigarette with his arms crossed and periodically puffs smoke, Franky watches the fight, Nico Robin reads a book, Usopp cheers for the fighters, Jinbe watches the fight, Brook plays his electrical guitar, and Tony Tony Chopper stands idly and periodically poses. All the Straw Hat Pirates except for Zoro strike a unique pose whenever a KO is scored.
Music[]
- The main music track is Luffy's Fierce Attack!, an orchestral remix of the theme that plays during battles in the anime ONE PIECE .
- The alternate music track is We Are!, an upbeat remix of the first opening theme of the anime ONE PIECE.
Tournament legality[]
This stage is banned due to the presence of walls, its size, and uneven platform layout. As explained on the Layout section, the left ledge poses a threat to the recoveries of most characters, forcing them to recover higher.
Origin[]

The Thousand Sunny in the anime ONE PIECE.
The Thousand Sunny is a large pirate ship and a central location in ONE PIECE that first appears in chapter 436 of the manga, titled "Pants from Franky House". It is the second and latest ship of the Straw Hat Pirates, a pirate crew led by the main protagonist Luffy, and was built by their shipwright Franky to replace their previous ship, the Going Merry, following its destruction. It is a brigantine that is primarily characterized by its large figurehead in the shape of a stylized lion's head, which Luffy often sits or stands on, as well as its giant masts. The deck of the ship contains a large, grassy lawn, and the ship is also equipped with several cannons for combat. After its construction, the ship serves as the crew's home and main means of transport as they traverse the Grand Line in search of the fabled One Piece treasure.
The stage in SSF2 takes place on the lawn deck of the ship, with its design being primarily based on the Thousand Sunny's appearance in the ONE PIECE anime. The backs of the ship's figurehead and main mast are visible in the background, and the Grand Line is visible outside the ship. All members of the Straw Hat Pirates as of Jinbe's joining appear across the ship, with the exception of their leader Luffy, and their unique poses reference their personalities, roles, or fighting styles. Cargo and treasure is also placed across the deck, with the crates on the left containing a wanted poster for Luffy, referencing those that appear in the anime for each of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Trivia[]

The Going Merry stage, as it was initially planned to appear in SSF2.
- Prior to the stage's inclusion in Beta 1.2.2, it was initially planned for SSF2 to feature a stage taking place on the Going Merry, the Straw Hat Pirates' previous ship in ONE PIECE, with the ship's orientation being directed to the left. It was changed to the Thousand Sunny likely due to it replacing the Going Merry after its destruction in ONE PIECE.
