Neutral attack (Super Smash Flash)

A standard attack in Super Smash Flash, called normal attack in the How to play section, is an attack that is performed by pressing the attack button without inputting any movement key. The standard attack can be seen as the equivalent to the standard special move found in the official Super Smash Bros. games but in turn may also be similar to the actual standard attacks as well. It mostly includes projectile-based attacks, like Mario's Fireball or moves that slightly make the player skid a few inches after the attack was performed, like Sonic's straight jab; there are exceptions, though that keep the player in the same spot the move was performed, with no propelling happening, like Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch. Because of SSF's unusual physics, keeping the attack button pressed down will continuously spam the attack, with projectiles taking the advantage out of any other attack.

The following is a list of all the standard attacks in SSF per character, adding a brief description, and explaining if the attack is a projectiles and if it skids or propels the character forward in a single use.

Crono	Deals a combo of three consecutive slashes.
Fox	Fires a single shot with his Blaster.
InuYasha	Delivers a straight, horizontal slash with Tessaiga.
Jigglypuff	Uses Pound, punching forward with its forearm.
Kirby	Switches places with Meta Knight, flying off on the Warp Star.
Knuckles	Throws a straight jab.
Link	Takes out his Bow and fires a single arrow in a straight line.
Lloyd	Slashes multiple times with Sword Rain.
Luigi	Shoots a straight Fireball.
Mario	Shoots a straight Fireball.
Mega Man X	Shoots with his fully-charged X-Buster.
Meta Knight	Switches places with Kirby, flying off with his wings.
Mewtwo	Launches a small purple projectiles from its palm.
Mr. Game & Watch	Pulls out a pesticide pump and expels a single puff of insecticide.
Mr. Incredible	Delivers an uppercut.
Naruto	Delivers a kick, emitting a damaging shockwave from his foot that extends at an upward angle.
Pikachu	Produces a bolt of electricity from its cheeks in front of it.
Samus	Fires with her arm cannon a fast-travelling Charge Shot
Shadow	Creates a growing field of chaos energy with Chaos Guard.
Sheik	Throws a set of four fast-travelling needles with Needle Storm.
Sonic	Throws a straight jab.
Super Sonic	Throws a straight "super" jab.
Tails	Fires a single forward ball with his Energy Ball Blaster.
Young Link	Takes out his Bow and fires a single arrow lit of fire in a straight line.
Zelda	Raises her arms covered in a blue magic and then thrusts them forward with a damaging shine coming from her palms.
Zero	Shoots with his semi-charged Zero Buster.
