A short hop (ショートバウンド) is the act of pressing the jump command and letting go before the player leaves the ground. By doing this, the character will jump lower than in a normal jump. This technique can be performed in Super Smash Flash 2.
The short hop is greatly used in high levels of play because it allows players to perform aerial moves closer to the ground. This is highly useful for spamming aerial moves and hitting grounded targets with aerial attacks.
