In Ocarina of Time, after Link pulls the Master Sword from its pedestal, he ends up travelling 7 years into the future, opening the Sacred Realm and allowing Ganondorf to take the triforce. Due to his imbalance of wisdom, courage, and power, the triforce splits into the Triforce of Power, Courage and Wisdom, leaving Ganondorf only with the Triforce of Power.
He then starts seeking for Princess Zelda, in order to take her Triforce of Wisdom. In an attempt to hide her identity from Ganondorf, Zelda changes into Sheik, a mysterious character who, upon meeting Link, claims to be the last member of the Sheikah; a clan of warriors sworn to protect the Royal Family of Hyrule.
