This article is about an effect where opponents are forced to turn around. For the mechanic related to the direction a move sends, see Reverse (mechanic).
Reverse

Mario using Cape to reverse Chibi-Robo.

Reverse is an effect in Super Smash Flash 2 dealt by certain moves. When a character is reversed, they are forcibly turned around to face the opposite direction, while also reversing their momentum. While this effect does not cause opponents to flinch, it may still cause knockback, similarly to wind.

Trivia

  • Reverse is the least common effect in SSF2, featuring only one attack in the game with the reverse effect.
  • Although this effect and reflection are separated effects in the code, all the moves that can reverse in SSF2 can also reflect projectiles.
  • Characters immediately turn around if their back is hit by a weak attack, such as a jab.
