Proto Shield, known in Japan as Blues Shield (ブルースシールド), was originally Mega Man's side special move in Super Smash Flash 2. He would pull out Proto Man's shield and push himself forwards with it, which would hit the enemy for 4% damage and knockback at the end of the shield-pulling animation. It could be kept out by holding the button and could deflect all projectiles. However, after Mega Man would pull out the shield and the damage had been given, he'd become vulnerable to attacks. As of Beta, Proto Shield has been replaced by Crash Bomb as Mega Man's side special move.
