|Power of Flight|
Pit using Power of Flight.
|Effect||Pit gains the Power of Flight and launches himself at an angle upwards in the direction inputted.|
When performed, Pit will, after a brief pause, launch himself high into the air at an angle based on the direction that is inputted at the time of launching. The move can also be angled mid-flight with the directional inputs, with the lowest angle able to launch Pit at about 30° from the ground. Pit can also attack opponents that make contact as soon as the move starts, dealing 5% damage and decent knockback. The move covers a very long distance, making it useful for recovery, but not only does it leave Pit helpless afterwards, but it also has no hitbox after the first frame, is predictably linear, and has a poor ledge sweet spot, which will leave him vulnerable when recovering, especially when it covers a very long distance, so if Pit overshoots the ledge, they can be punished in midair.
The Power of Flight is an ability that originates from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Due to Pit's inability to fly on his own, he was granted this power by Palutena (and, eventually, Viridi) in order to reach certain destinations otherwise inaccessible, such as the Underworld. While active, Pit's wings and flight path are completely controlled by the goddess granting the Power of Flight while Pit can focus fighting enemies in the air. However, Pit can only use this power for five minutes at a time; should Pit exceed that limit, his wings will burn up and he will plummet down, which may be fatal if prolonged. This translates to SSF2 in how Pit can only use the move once before landing, and only for a short period of time.
