|Effect||Ness fires a bolt of fire forwards that explodes into a pillar on contact with an opponent.|
When performed, Ness leans back while shouting "PK Fire" and then quickly leans forward, releasing an orange lightning-shaped bolt of fire from his hands. The bolt of fire travels forwards with a slight downward angle on the ground, while in the air, it is shot diagonally downwards. The bolt travels a relatively short distance, and if it hits an opponent or another hurtbox, it then explodes into a pillar of flames. The pillar sinks slowly downward for the two seconds it is out before disappearing. Opponents caught in the flame are dealt 1% flame damage by the initial hit and 2% flame damage with every hit afterwards, dealing a maximum damage of 13% damage if the opponent is hit for the entire duration of the attack. The move also deals very weak upward knockback with each hit, which helps to trap opponents hit so they are hit multiple times by the attack.

PK Fire (localized as PSI Fire in EarthBound) first appeared in Mother and has appeared in later Mother games since. In all three of the Mother games, the move involved using the character's psychic power to send fire at the enemy. However, in EarthBound, Ness could not learn the move; instead it is learned by Paula.
In the description for the move in EarthBound, it states that fire bursts from the player's fingertips onto a row of enemies. When Ness performs this attack in SSF2, fire comes from his fingertips, just as described.
