- This article is about Octodad's appearance in Fraymakers. For general information about the character, see Octodad.
Octodad is a playable character in Fraymakers. He was unveiled alongside the game's Kickstarter campaign and was first made available at the launch of its Early Access release.
Octodad hails from the game series of the same name, with his design specifically being based on Octodad: Dadliest Catch. His moveset takes advantage of his long, flexible tentacles to deliver long-reaching attacks at often unique angles, allowing for a tactical playstyle in which he can attack distant opponents at the cost of being left vulnerable outside his range.

Assist functionality[]

Octodad's Assist render.
When summoned as an Assist, Octodad extends both arms diagonally upward to grab an opponent and fling them downward, similarly to his up special move. Unlike its up special move counterpart, it deals only 6 damage. Its massive range and quick startup lag make it very useful for edgeguarding or extending combos.
It takes 50 damage to fully charge Octodad.
Description[]
Playable character[]
A tactical character that takes advantage of the unique motions and long reach that are made possible by his stretchy, flexible limbs! The tip of his arm is stronger for most attacks, so different spacing can open up new combo opportunities. This can also mean you're vulnerable to aggressive gameplay - if your opponents get too close, try using side special's armor frames to turn the tables!
Assist[]
Extends his arms at an upward diagonal, grabbing the first opponent he hits and flipping them around into a spike! This is a great way to knock your opponent down or start an edgeguard sequence.

- Octodad's moveset takes heavy inspiration from characters with long or stretchy limbs in other fighting games, such as Necro from Street Fighter III.
