Effect Samus fires a small missile forward that explodes on contact with an opponent.

Missile (ミサイル) is Samus' side special move in Super Smash Flash 2.

When performed, Samus aims her arm cannon forward and then releases one of two different types of missiles out of it. The first is the Homing Missile, which slowly turns towards the closest opponent after it is released. This deals 5% damage with low knockback to opponents hit. The second type is the Super Missile, which travels straight forwards without a homing ability, but deals 14%, is faster and more powerful, and travels further. To use the Homing Missile, one must press the special move button while holding forwards, like with performing a side tilt. To use the Super Missile, one must press the special move button and direction simultaneously, similar to performing a smash attack.

Missiles have appeared in every game in the Metroid series, starting with the original Metroid. Compared to the standard power beam, missiles are more powerful (being 3 or 5 times more powerful depending on each game), capable of unlocking certain doors and defeating more powerful enemies, but with a limited supply that must be replenished from time to time. They are one of the first power-ups acquired in each game, usually upon finding a Missile Tank. In the Metroid games, missiles did not have homing properties until Metroid Prime. However, Samus first had missiles with homing abilities in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Super Missiles debuted on Super Metroid as more powerful alternatives for common missiles, but with a more limited supply.
