McLeodGaming Direct is an online digital presentation made by McLeodGaming, inspired by Nintendo's own Nintendo Direct presentations. Its current focus is to demonstrate and announce new stuff to be present in Super Smash Flash 2. Only one presentation has been made, a new presentation is set to be streamed on 1/25/15.

McLeodGaming Direct - Super Smash Flash 2 v0.9b

A special direct with a duration of 13 minutes was released on July 21st, 2014, focused on the latest demo of Super Smash Flash 2. It was presented by the SSF2 Developer, Void. The direct revealed information about characters, game modes, and new features coming up in the new demo.

Character announcements

  • Chibi-Robo, first revealed on the SSF2 Apex 2014 booth, was shown with upgraded visual effects and moves, now being a completely full character. He uses an assortment of everyday objects on his attacks. His companion and best friend, Telly Vision is now alongside Chibi-Robo on the battles, giving him "emotional support", though he will not be part of Chibi-Robo's moveset since he's not the type to interfere in combat. When using his plug, or his toothbrush on his attacks, he will now emmit an electrical charge, or a trail of bubbles respectively. His Final Smash was revealed to be his bigger counterpart, Giga-Robo.
  • Character's upgrades were shown. Sora now being a lot like his games were he is a combo oriented character, Strike Raid now being his neutral special, and Flowmotion was revealed as his new side special. Ichigo was shown with his new design and a new ability being part of many of his attacks, the Flash Steps, leading him to a new fighting style never seen before. Bomberman was shown with an slightly upgrade, he can now have 5 types of bombs on stage, and he was shown to be able to throw bombs upwards or downwards.
  • Many characters were given traction and friction fixes, making them wander around the stages more normally. Examples such as Black Mage and Captain Falcon.
  • A brief teaser of an upcoming major update was shown, revealing Isaac's appearance on SSF2 as a playable character, however, he will not be playable on demo v0.9b, but in the upcoming major update exluding patches. The teaser was made a lot like Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U trailers' style, excluding the fire on the intro, and just showcasing the character's presentation.

Game modes announcements

  • Showcasing all the special modes revealed until now, the direct showed the final special modifier to be revealed before the demo releases, Turbo. Coming directly from the Brawl mod, Project M, Turbo mode works exactly the same way, letting characters create a new way of fighting by using a lot of combos non-stop. The devs prepared a mini-video of what the special modifier can offer.
  • Online mode was finally showcased on the game's menu. As expected, the mode itself is coming up on the new version of the demo. Players can create an account, log in with their username and password, and create hosting rooms. Special modifiers can be selected on online battles. The Online Practice Stage, with a better and fresh look, its making its way back with the same purpose it had on Brawl. Sandbag was confirmed to return as well.

Other announcements

  • The direct briefly mentioned things that weren't talked about, such as the new Target Smash!! stage, and the replay feature.
  • The release date of the demo v0.9b was revealed to be on July 24th, 2014. Online mode will be included with release for a select number of players, and rolled out over the span of a week to the rest of the community.

The second McLeodGaming Direct is 20 minutes long and is programmed to be streamed on 1/25/15 on MG Twitch channel at 6 PM EST.
