Lucario is a veteran unlockable character in . It was revealed during the Day 1 livestream at Super Smash Flash 2 Super Smash Con 2019. Its moveset is mainly taken from its appearance on and Super Smash Bros. Brawl , Its sprite design and voice clips are taken from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
A downward swipe, to a jab, and then a high stretch kick.

A crouching kick.
Thrusts both arms outwards, releasing a wave of aura energy on both sides.
A cross punch.
Thrusts both arms forward, releasing a wave of aura energy.
A crescent kick above him.
Thrusts both arms upwards, releasing a wave of aura energy.
A flying kick.
Reaches out with one hand.
Thrusts his palm into opponents.
Chucks opponents forward.
Throws opponents at the ground behind him.
Hurls opponents upward.
Slams opponents on the ground.
Kicks high behind, then in front of him.

Standard special move
Lucario charges up a sphere of aura energy and launches it forward. Has an active hitbox while charging.
Side special move
Lucario releases a wave of aura energy from its palms. Does more damage the closer the opponent is to it. If sweet-spotted off stage it will do a strong Meteor effect.
Up special move
Lucario performs a quick dash. The move travels faster and further the more damage it has.
Down special move
Lucario dodges momentarily and then attacks with a paralyzing punch. Paralyzes opponents.
Lucario flies up into the air and fires a beam of aura energy downwards.
Hovers in place, emitting aura energy around himself before descending down to the stage.
Releases aura energy around himself.
Extends his paw forward, releasing a small burst of aura energy.
Strikes a kata pose.

Early in Lucario's development, its costumes were all filtered due to the palette system not having been implemented at the time. These costumes were never publicly shown in any developmental build of SSF2, though many have been recreated for Lucario's current costumes.
