Lucario is a veteran unlockable character in Super Smash Flash 2 . It was revealed during the Day 1 livestream at Super Smash Con 2019 . Its moveset is mainly taken from its appearance on Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U . Its sprite design and voice clips are primarily taken from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate .

Early into Lucario's development, its costumes were all filtered due to the palette system not having been implemented at the time. These costumes were never publicly shown in any developmental build of SSF2 , though many have been recreated for Lucario's current costumes.
