Krystal Phase was originally planned to be Krystal's side special move in Super Smash Flash 2 during the development of Beta 1.2. The move was scrapped and replaced with Krystal Rush prior to her inclusion.
Overview[]
The attack consists of Krystal boosting a short distance directly forward at a somewhat high speed, causing a purple trailing effect to appear. The way the move acts is very similar to Fox's Fox Illusion. However, the move grants her complete intangibility at the cost of less distance, and she is unable to deal damage using the move.
Trivia[]
- Due to its lack of usefulness and unpopularity among the community, this move was replaced only days after first being shown at Super Smash Con 2018.
- This move was never officially named, with "Krystal Phase" being the only name publicly given to the move by a developer, namely Refurin.
- The name is a reference to Falco Phase, the second custom variation of Falco's side special move, Falco Phantasm, in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. This variation of the move makes Falco intangible at the cost of increased ending lag and not dealing any damage.
