Availability Unlockable

Krystal is a newcomer unlockable character in Super Smash Flash 2. Her reveal was shown during the Day 2 livestream at Super Smash Con 2018. Her appearance is based on her design in the game Star Fox Command. Her moveset consists mainly of attacks using her staff from Star Fox Adventures, as well as certain weapons she uses in Star Fox Assault.

Krystal is a combo-heavy character, not differing from the other Star Fox cast. She is fast and agile and boasts some very easy yet damaging combos. Her dash attack can combo into itself, and as it is a pivot, it can also be used as a way to quickly retreat when running at full speed. Her side special is ably to snap to ledge surprisingly easily, and her laser is a solid kill option for offstage enemies.

Ground attacks

Attack Description Damage
Standard attack Quickly swings her staff forwards, kicks twice while spinning in place, and finishes with a spinning back kick. The first hit pulls opponents into the remainder of the attack, which proves it very reliable. 3%
Down tilt Crouches and swings one of her legs out in a sweeping motion around her. Its low upward knockback coupled with its low ending lag makes it a versatile combo starter 7%
Down smash Does a high jump and slams her staff into the ground, dealing high knockback and creating a massive shockwave that can trip opponents nearby. More knockback is dealt if opponents are hit by Krystal's staff than the shockwave. 21%
Forward tilt Spins her staff in front of her, dealing multiple hits. 2%
Forward smash Thrusts her staff forward, which shoots a short-ranged beam. Has a sour spot and a sweetspot at the beam. 14%
Up tilt Swings her tail upwards. Very low range. 10%
Up smash Spins her staff multiple times in an arc. Low range. 16%
Dash attack Plants her staff on the ground and attacks with a twirling kick. It has low endlag, stops all of Krystal's forward momentum, turns her around, and sends opponents backward, making it useful for combos. Can also combo into her forward smash at mid-range percentages. 9%

Aerial attacks

Attack Description Damage
Neutral aerial Extends her leg forwards. The clean hit can serve as KO option, while the late hit can extend combos. 13%9%
Forward aerial Performs two forward kicks. The first hit deals set knockback, which allows it to combo into the second hit. The attack is very powerful, though it has moderate endlag. 5%9%
Back aerial Does a strong backwards kick. 8%
Up aerial Thrusts her staff upward, which will then shoot a short-ranged beam. It can serve as a followup to her up smash, with the sweetspot dealing impressive vertical knockback 16%
Down aerial Places her staff below her and shoots a low-ranged beam downwards. If hit clean, it will meteor smash the opponent, and Krystal will bounce upward if she lands the hitbox. 18%

Grab and throws

Attack Description Damage
Grab Reaches out with one hand. N/A
Pummel Quickly hits the opponent with her elbow. 1%
Forward throw Hits opponents with her staff, sending them forward. 8%
Back throw Turns around and sweeps her leg backwards. 11%
Up throw Throws opponents upward. 8%
Down throw Throws the opponent downward, and then freezes them with her staff. Due to Smash Flash 2's freeze mechanics, however, the opponent will be able to act out instantly, so this move should be avoided. 6%

Other attacks

Attack Description Damage
Floor attack Kicks in front, then behind her. 5%
Ledge attack Kicks opponents as she climbs up. 7%

Special moves

Special move Name Description Damage
Standard special move Sniper Rifle Fires powerful lasers from a sniper rifle. The move can be held and aimed by pressing up or down, though the move has a considerable amount of endlag, so if used offstage, even when decently high up, Krystal will die before the animation ends. 12%
Side special move Krystal Rush Rushes forward with a kick, bouncing off opponents, which she can use to set up combos. In the air, she shoots diagonally downward with a divekick. The aerial version keeps her horizontal momentum, and does not leave her helpless, though it has a sizable amount of lag. 9%
Up special move Staff Rocket Boost Activates a rocket within her staff, which she uses to travel a short distance upward. If opponents are hit during the initial hitbox, they are meteor smashed, though if they are hit as Krystal rises, high knockback and electric damage. 17%
Down special move Grenade Throws a grenade that produces a small, lingering explosion. The distance the grenade travels and the damage the explosion deals depend on the charge level. 9%-10%
Final Smash TBA
