Kira Buckland is a professional voice actress for anime and video games who has worked several times for McLeodGaming, notably as an announcer in Super Smash Flash and Fraymakers.
History[]
Kira Buckland started voice acting in 2004 and primarily worked with independent projects at first, such as Flash animations and games and radio dramas. She became more and more prevalent in online communities over time and would begin voice acting professionally in 2007, eventually making it her full-time career in 2018. She is primarily known for her roles in English-dubbed Japanese anime such as Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and video games such as Falke in Street Fighter V, Edna in Tales of Zestiria, and 2B in Nier: Automata.
Work with School[]
The first McLeodGaming production Kira Buckland would take part in was the 2005 Flash animation School after Gregory McLeod reached out on Newgrounds for potential voice actors.[1] In School, Buckland voices Student 4, one of the five students featured in the animation.
Work with Super Smash Flash[]
In the original Super Smash Flash, Kira Buckland is the announcer, as well as the voice actress for Naruto. According to Gregory McLeod, the decision to use a custom announcer was due to the characters not present in the Super Smash Bros. games, which would not be consistent with existing announcers in those games. The decision to use a female announcer, namely Buckland, was to give the game a "unique twist".[2]
Work with Fraymakers[]
Fourteen years after the release of Super Smash Flash, it was announced that Kira Buckland would be the main announcer for Fraymakers (alongside Jacob Rabon and Joshua Tomar), reprising her previous role.
