Bomberman using Jetpack.
|Effect||Bomberman takes out a jetpack and rockets upwards, damaging opponents on his way.|
When performed, Bomberman nervously takes out a jetpack, charges it up for a moment, and then spins around while waving his arms in a nervous matter while it launches him a large distance vertically upwards. The move can deal 9% flame damage with decent knockback to opponents hit with the explosion at the startup of the move and 2% with weak knockback as he ascends. When the Jetpack is initiated, there is a small delay which keeps Bomberman falling slowly until it activates, unless he jump cancels into the move. Though it is one of the best vertical recoveries in the game, as such, it has very poor horizontal recovery.
Jetpack is based on the Rocket item that has so far appeared only in the WiiWare-exclusive game, Bomberman Blast. Like many item in the game, the player may find a Rocket item by blowing up soft blocks with bombs. The Rocket is primarily a defensive item; to use it, the player has to shake the Wii Remote continuously. This will then rocket Bomberman upwards into the sky, allowing him to avoid any bomb blast right away. Unlike in SSF2, Bomberman is not able to attack his opponents as he is rocketing into the air, nor is the startup explosion harmful towards them.
