Globox is a major recurring character in the Rayman series.

Character description

Globox resembles a large, fat amphibian, who is blue-green in color with a pale yellow belly and hands. He resides in the Glade of Dreams with his wife, Uglette, and is the proud father of at least 650 small children. He and his family were created by the divine spirit Polokus as part of the non-magical People. He was originally named "Globber" and a member of the Red Wizard clan, having red skin as a result, but he became blue as a result of some unusual incident. He is Rayman's best friend and sidekick and often travels alongside him in his adventures. Globox is generally warm and friendly, albeit dimwitted and cowardly, though he becomes much more rude and confident when drinking plum juice.

Being similar in appearance to a frog, Globox is a high jumper, and he is able to inflate himself and flap his arms in order to hover in midair like Rayman. Despite his large form and thin limbs, he is physically very strong and fast enough to keep up with Rayman, though he normally tends to walk slowly. He also has the ability to form rainclouds, albeit small ones to quickly grow a plant, put out fires, or rust a Robo-Pirate.

In the Super Smash Flash series

Globox, as he appears as a background character in Super Smash Flash 2.

In Super Smash Flash 2, Globox appears as a background character on the Fairy Glade stage. He can be seen standing next to the mushroom in the background, watching the battle. When idle, he will periodically either slap his belly with his left hand or look to his left then his right. He will also dance and wave his hands around when a KO is scored.

  • Globox's eyes actually follow the movements of the fighters in a match. In a battle with more than two fighters, his eyes will follow a random character and will observe another after slapping his belly or looking around. If there are only two fighters and the one he's currently looking at is KO'd, he automatically watches the other.
