The ghosts: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde (赤ベイ, ピンキー, 青助 and 愚図た), are recurring enemies in the PAC-MAN series. They are red, pink, cyan, and orange respectively.
Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde are a group of ghosts known as the Ghost Gang, who normally serve as the main antagonists of the PAC-MAN series starting with its debut title. Each ghost has a unique personality that is reflected in their behaviors in this game: Blinky is a pursuer that would follow PAC-MAN's trail, Pinky is an ambusher who tries to get ahead of PAC-MAN, Inky is bashful and moves in unpredictable manners, and Clyde is ignorant and does not try to catch PAC-MAN when close to him. Although they are normally invulnerable to PAC-MAN, they become temporarily vulnerable to being eaten by him if he eats a Power Pellet. Despite being villainous ghosts that like to torment PAC-MAN for fun, they also tend to become his allies during serious situations. However, most of their solo villainous efforts usually consist of them just teasing him or chasing him, while in others they take on a more antagonistic role due to being ordered to do so by their superiors.
In Super Smash Flash 2
As a moveset element
In Super Smash Flash 2, the ghosts appear as a part of PAC-MAN's moveset in several instances, with each ghost taking their appearance from the original PAC-MAN. They are used to attack in his smash attacks, with Blinky being used in his forward smash, Inky in his up smash, and both Pinky and Clyde in his down smash. Additionally, Blinky and Pinky can both be seen flying around PAC-MAN when he uses his standard taunt.
As a background character
The ghosts also appear in SSF2 as background characters on PAC-MAZE. Much like in PAC-MAN's moveset, they each take their appearances from the original PAC-MAN, and they follow a maze of Pac-Dots in the background in a specific pattern.
