This article is about an item in the Super Smash Flash series. For the effect, see Freeze. For other uses, see Freeze (disambiguation).

Freezie (フリーザー), originally called Slipice, is an enemy in the Mario Bros. arcade game and an item in Super Smash Flash 2.

Overview

When a Freezie appears in Super Smash Flash 2, it slides across the stage on its own, speeding up if it encounters a slope. When picked up and thrown, any character hit by the Freezie will be frozen and knocked upwards. Freezies can break if attacked before being picked up. Freezies could easily KO a character at respectable percentages, as well as keeping characters trapped long enough for him/her to take a lot of damage.

Origin

Freezie, under the name Slipice, is the last enemy introduced in Mario Bros., appearing in later levels to add an extra degree of challenge. It moves along the platforms, if a Freezie reaches the middle of a platform, it would stop in place to eventually cover it completely in ice, destroying itself in the process, making the platform extremely slippery for players. As with all the other enemies, the only way to defeat a Freezie is to jump onto the platform below it. If Mario or Luigi made contact with a Freezie, they would lose a life. Defeating a Freezie is not required to clear a phase but due to their nature, they may be become the next target of the player to avoid the Freezie from freezing the platform.
