Ganondorf using Flame Choke.
|Universe||The Legend of Zelda|
|Effect||Ganondorf dashes forward to grab an opponent and slam them into the ground with an explosion of dark magic.|
When performed, Ganondorf charges forward with his hand outstretched to grab an opponent he makes contact with. If used on the ground, he will then lift up the grabbed opponent and slam them onto the ground with an explosion of dark magic, dealing 12% damage. If used in midair, Ganondorf and the opponent will plummet downwards until hitting the ground, knocking the opponent down and dealing 15% damage with an explosion. The explosion on both versions is a spike with set knockback.
The move has considerable ending lag when not landed but very little ending lag when landed, which makes it a reliable option for setting up combos. The opponent can tech the explosion hit, potentially negating follow-ups, though Ganondorf can still react quickly, which aids in his punish game. The aerial version can also be used as a sacrificial KO, and Ganondorf can alter his position in the air by pressing forward or backward, though both Ganondorf and his opponent are KO'd at the same time. The move can also be used for horizontal recovery, though it also leaves Ganondorf helpless at the end when not landed.
