Fireball (ファイアボール, Faiabōru) is Mario and Luigi's standard attack in Super Smash Flash and Mario and Luigi's standard special move in Super Smash Flash 2. Mario and Luigi release a fireball from their hands. The Fireball is a common projectile in the Mario series that can be used when Mario or Luigi receive a Fire Flower. In the original Super Smash Flash, neither Mario nor Luigi's fireballs were affected by gravity; in Super Smash Flash 2, however, Mario's is affected by gravity and Luigi's not. As noted that in the original Super Mario Bros., Mario's Fireball would continue to bounce forward until it hit an enemy, or a wall. Each fireball does 5% to the opponent. In SSF2, the fireball will wear out should it not hit anything.

Variations

Mario

Mario's fireball is reddish-orange, is affected by gravity and bounce of the floor, while moving forward. The Fireball will wear out, even if it doesn't comes in contact with an enemy, or a wall, as opposed to in Super Mario Bros..

Luigi

Unlike Mario's, Luigi's fireball is light green, unaffected by gravity, and goes into circles while moving forward. Like his brother's, the Fireball will wear out, even if doesn't comes in contact with enemies or walls.

Origin

The Fireballs first appear in Mario Bros. as a enemy, Mario or Luigi first uses the Fireball ability in Super Mario Bros., with the Fire Flower.
