Spear Throw, also referred to as Spear Toss, is Bandana Dee's side special move in Super Smash Flash 2.
Overview[]
When performed, Bandana Dee pulls out a spear and then throws it forward. When thrown, the spear travels slowly in an arc upward, which is much higher when used in the air, before falling diagonally downward. Opponents hit by the spear as it flies are dealt 5% damage with relatively little knockback, as well as somewhat high hitstun. Additionally, if a spear hits an opponent as it lands and then plants into the ground, it deals an additional 5% damage and even more hitstun, which can pin them in place and prevent them from acting until the spear disappears. The more damage the opponent has taken, the longer they are trapped in place, making for a good combo starter.
Only one spear may be active at a time. If a previously thrown spear is still in the air or trapping an opponent while Bandana Dee attempts to use the move again, he will instead lie down for a moment before getting back up.

Spear Throw is an attack in the Kirby series that Kirby can use when equipped with the Spear Copy Ability. It functions similarly to how it does in SSF2, as while dashing, Kirby can toss a spear in an arc upward a short distance forward. Additionally, Kirby can also use two variations of this move depending on what is pressed. If the attack button is pressed a second time when used in the air, Kirby uses Spear Barrage, an attack where he throws two spears in succession. If the attack button is held before the spear is thrown, Kirby uses Triple Throw, an attack where he throws three spears at once in a spread. Neither of these variations are referenced in SSF2.
Bandana Dee himself is also able to use Spear Throw and each of its variations in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. While they function identically, they are renamed according to his species: Waddle Spear Throw, Waddle Spear Barrage, and Waddle Triple Throw, respectively.
