Upperdash Arm (豪腕ダッシュアッパー), is Pit's side special move in Super Smash Flash 2.

Overview[]

When performed, Pit will take his Upperdash Arm out onto his hand and then dashes forward with the Upperdash Arm behind him. If Pit comes into contact with an opponent, he will then uppercut them with the arm, dealing relatively strong upward knockback. When used on the ground, the move will deal 11% damage to opponents hit. When used in the air, the move hits twice, dealing 22% damage instead, and Pit will ascend a bit after the move ends.

The move sends Pit a decent distance forward, making it rather useful for horizontal recovery, especially since it preserves Pit's horizontal momentum when it ends. However, the move has considerable ending lag if it fails to connect, especially in the air, making it easy to punish when opponents aren't in Pit's line of attack.

Origin[]

KIU Upperdash Arm

The Upperdash Arm as it appears in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Arms are one of the weapon classes Pit uses in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Weapons in this class boast high power in both melee and ranged combat, but are short-ranged and have a slow attack speed (in addition to considerably slowing Pit's running speed); this is referenced by Pit's move in SSF2, having good knockback but suffering punishable ending lag. The Upperdash Arm in particular has weak normal attacks but strong melee dash attacks. The back-dash charged shot from this weapon is capable of sending foes airborne.

  • When using Pit's eleventh costume, the colors of Upperdash Arm change to black and yellow. This references Electroshock Arm, Dark Pit's side special move in the official Super Smash Bros. games.
