Falcon's Crest, known in Japan as Heavenly Soaring Azure Rendering Slash (天翔蒼破斬), also known as Divine Justice, is Lloyd's Final Smash in Super Smash Flash 2.

Overview[]

When performed, Lloyd reels back as a glint of light appears in front of him. If it connects with any opponents, he will then trap them in place and deal a total of 22% damage. He then combines his swords together to form the Eternal Sword and causes rain-like energy to rise from the ground, dealing an additional 12% damage and no knockback to opponents hit. Finally, he channels energy into the Eternal Sword and jumps upward while saying, "I'll show you!", and a cut-in briefly appears before he says, "Divine Justice!" and performs an overhead falling slash that does 16% damage and sends opponents flying with strong knockback. In total, the move can deal up to 50% damage. Lloyd then turns the Eternal Sword back into the Vorpal Sword and Flameberge, ending the move.

Origin[]

Falcon's Crest Origin

Lloyd using Falcon's Crest in Tales of Symphonia.

The Falcon's Crest arte was first introduced in Tales of Symphonia as an offensive sword technique that has appeared in several Tales games since as the signature mystic arte of Lloyd Irving. It is Lloyd's most powerful attack and is obtained after Lloyd receives the Material Blades and gains the title "Eternal Swordsman". When performed, Lloyd channels energy in the Material Blades that rises from the ground and attacks nearby opponents before leaping up and fusing them into one large blade, the Eternal Sword, which he smashes onto the opponent, causing immense damage.

The cut-in that appears before the final hit is unleashed is taken from his Falcon's Crest cut-in in the remaster of Tales of Symphonia included in Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

Trivia[]

  • Prior to v0.2b of the SSF2 Demo, Falcon's Crest had a completely different effect, in which Lloyd released a number of explosions by slamming his sword down to the ground. The attack did not need to connect with any opponents to activate.
