Falcon Kick (ファルコンキック) is a recurring attack in the Super Smash Bros. series used by Captain Falcon in the Super Smash Flash series.

Overview

On the ground, the attack consists of Captain Falcon rushing forward, blazing with a flaming kick forward as he yells "Falcon Kick!". In the air, Captain Falcon instead kicks diagonally downward.

In Super Smash Flash

In the original Super Smash Flash, the grounded Falcon Kick is Captain Falcon's down attack, while the aerial Falcon Kick is his down aerial and part of his up attack. For the grounded variant, he slides across the ground with his leg engulfed in flames. The move deals 7% damage per frame and stays out until he stops moving across the ground, and holding the attack button will repeat the attack. For the aerial variant, he delivers a diving flame-less kick downward that deals 6% damage per frame and stays out for about one second.

In Super Smash Flash 2

In the reboot, Super Smash Flash 2, the grounded and aerial Falcon Kick are combined into Captain Falcon's down special move. It works much more like it does in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Unlike in the main Super Smash Bros. games, however, it has little to no ending lag when used on the ground. When performed on ground, Captain Falcon bursts into the air instead of along the ground, and the kick moves fairly slow in the direction he is facing. In the air, Captain Falcon will kick diagonally at faster speeds towards the ground and regain his midair jump. This can be used to momentum cancel and to aid with his horizontal recovery as well. The attack gets weaker over time and deals 9-15% damage to the opponent depending on when they were hit. It also gives Falcon some degree of knockback resistance. If Falcon uses Falcon Kick on the ground and hits a wall with it, he will bounce off of it.
