When performed, Kirby puts on a chef's hat and pulls out a spatula and frying pan as a large pot appears in front of him. He then bangs the spatula and frying pan together, causing nearby opponents and items to helplessly fly into the pot. Kirby then cooks the opponents and items trapped inside the pot, dealing multiple hits of damage before finally releasing them. The opponents are launched with strong knockback and a new item appears for each opponent or item that was cooked. The move deals up to 35% damage total to trapped opponents. After they are released, Kirby's pot and chef's hat disappear, ending the move.
Cook is one of Kirby's recurring Copy Abilities in the Kirby series that originates from Kirby Super Star. When used, it is able to trap all regular enemies, projectiles, and defeated mid-bosses in a large pot, where they are then cooked and turned into healing food items. After using this ability once, Kirby loses it. The design of the Copy Ability in SSF2 most closely resembles its design in Kirby Star Allies. This Final Smash also reflects Kirby's love for food, as he usually eats up enemies and gobbles food along his journeys.
When using Kirby's twelfth costume, the chef's hat, utensils, and pot resemble the in-game sprites of Kirby's Adventure, much like Kirby does. Ironically, the Cook ability does not appear in this game.
