Chansey (ラッキー) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon franchise. In Super Smash Flash 2 it can be released from a Poké Ball to aid a player during battle.

Character description[]

Chansey is categorized within the Pokédex at #113 as the "Egg Pokémon". It is a pink, ovoid Pokémon with stubby arms, dark pink feet, and a short tail. It has tiny eyes and three hair-like growths on each side of its head. The tufts of hair have dark pink tips. On the center of its belly is a dark pink pouch that contains a single white egg. The egg is said to be very nutritious and it lays several new ones every day, which it shares with injured people and Pokémon. This is the basis for its signature move, Soft-Boiled, which restores HP by half of the its maximum HP.

Chansey evolves from Happiny when leveled up while holding an Oval Stone in the daytime from Generation IV onward, and it evolves into Blissey when leveled up with high friendship from Generation II onward. Chansey is the only Pokémon capable of using the Lucky Punch item.

Chansey can be released from a Poké Ball in Super Smash Flash 2. Once released, Chansey will use Soft-Boiled, releasing seven eggs from its pouch onto the stage. The eggs act as items and are identical to the egg that appears as Food, albeit slightly smaller. Each egg will randomly be one of two types, with one being a container item and the other a recovery item. As a container item, it acts nearly identical to a Capsule in that it can be picked up and thrown to release an item upon landing or being attacked, and it also has a 1-in-8 chance to explode instead. The main differences include that the egg deals only 4% damage to opponents hit instead of 8% and much weaker knockback (except for the exploding variant, which is as strong as an exploding Capsule), and the egg also travels a shorter distance when thrown. As a recovery item, it acts the same as Food and heals 10% damage when picked up. Upon releasing all seven eggs, Chansey's pouch remains empty, and it disappears from the stage.
