Universe Kirby
User(s) Bandana Dee (Super Smash Flash 2)
Effect Bandana Dee holds out his spear and fires a weak stream of beam energy or, if charged, a stronger projectile.

Beam Whip and Wave Beam are Bandana Dee's neutral special moves in Super Smash Flash 2.

When performed, the tip of Bandana Dee's spear becomes a blue orb, and by holding the special move input, he twirls it around to charge before holding it out in front of him. Which variant of the move Bandana Dee performs is dependent on whether or not the player charges the attack fully.

The first variant, Beam Whip, is used by simply pressing the button without charging it, or letting go of the input before the charging is complete. This results in Bandana Dee firing five spheres of beam energy in the form of a short-ranged beam that moves upwards quickly. The beam can hit opponents up to four times, with each hit dealing 2% electric damage and very little knockback. If used in the air, Bandana Dee is pushed forward slightly.

Charging up completely results in the second variant, Wave Beam, where Bandana Dee fires two spheres of beam energy that revolve around one another as they move forward, in the form of a projectile that covers a greater distance. This move only hits once but deals 8% damage and stronger knockback than that of Beam Whip. Bandana Dee is also pushed back when using this move, more so when used in the air.

Both Beam Whip and Wave Beam are attack variants that Kirby uses with the Beam Copy Ability in the Kirby series. Beam Whip is basically the standard variant of attack for the Beam ability consisting on a line of energy that damages enemies, as such, is present in every appearance of said ability ever since its introduction in Kirby's Adventure. Wave Beam did not appear until the Beam ability's moveset was expanded for Kirby Super Star, where the player could charge the attack to launch a strong energy wave that deals more damage on enemies.

In his original games, Bandana Dee (or any Waddle Dee) is unable to use these attacks. The one who is able to pull off these moves is the other Waddle variant, Waddle Doo, who effectively is the most well-known source that grants Kirby the Beam ability.
