Falco using Arwing.
|Effect||Falco hops into an Arwing, displaying the cockpit, allowing him to shoot lasers and a limited supply of Smart Bombs.|
When performed, Falco says "Personally, I prefer the air!" and leaps up to the upper blast line into an Arwing. A first-person cockpit view of the Arwing displays on the screen as the camera zooms out to show most of the stage at once. From this view, the player can aim a reticle to fire at using the Arwing. Pressing the attack input fires three sets of weak twin lasers, which deal 2% damage with no knockback each to opponents hit. Holding the input down will charge and fire a more powerful laser, with deals 12% damage and strong knockback. Additionally, pressing the special input will fire a Smart Bomb that explodes upon reaching the stage. Up to two Smart Bombs can be fired in total, and the amount the player has left is shown in the upper-right corner of the screen. After approximately 25 seconds, the cockpit view will disappear and Falco will fall back to the stage, ending the move.
The Arwing is the name of the one-man spaceship used by the eponymous mercenary team in the Star Fox series, and it has appeared in almost every game starting with its debut title. It is the primary battle vehicle of the Star Fox Team and is capable of rapidly firing lasers that can also be charged up to be more powerful and home in on enemies. Normally, the lasers fired are singular, but the Arwing can be upgraded to fire twin lasers instead. It can also fire Smart Bombs, of which it can hold up to five at once. The Arwing is used during most gameplay in the series, with the Final Smash particularly resembling the UI in Star Fox 64 and Star Fox 64 3D when using the first-person head view.
Falco is one of the characters who can pilot the Arwing, and he is often more heavily associated with it due to being the ace pilot of the team.
