A Super Mario World is a short running Flash-animated, comedy, parody series created by Gregory McLeod and published by McLeodGaming. It consisted of only three episodes that ran from 2005 to 2006. It is a parody of numerous video game franchises, the most notable is Nintendo's Mario series; the other game franchises also include Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series, SEGA's Sonic series; and SQUARE ENIX's KINGDOM HEARTS series. The plot centers on Mario's and Link's quest to infiltrate Bowser's Castle to rescue Princess Zelda from Bowser's clutches, unaware they are heading to a deadly trap set by a more dangerous enemy.
Overall reviews for the three episodes has been mixed to positive. Out of the three, Episode 2 was the most acclaimed, it received "Daily 3rd Place" award on August 4, 2005 from the website Newgrounds.com.
